Heading to Cape Cod

Today we headed to Cape Cod (Provincetown) via a Ferry. As we left Plymouth we saw the Mayflower 2 (below). We had a 2 hour ride to the cape where we toured provincetown which reminded us a lot of door county with all the little shops and restaurants. We had to catch our Ferry back to Plymouth and had a very wild ride back as the winds kicked up a lot. We traveled in 5+ foot seas which was a blast...even though others on the Ferry didn't think so....













































Tomorrow we head out of Plymouth and make our way to our friends house where we will spend a couple of days before heading into New York City.

Acadia National Park Day Two

On our second day in Acadia we were greeted with pouring rain. We decided to head into the park anyway and were pleased to find that the rain and fog slowly moved out.































By the time we got to the top of Cadillac Mountain the clouds were rolling out so we could catch our first shots of the entire park. The views were certainly worth the wait!

Acadia National Park Day One

On our first day in Acadia National Park we were greeted by low fog. We decided to head into the park anyway and were able to get a few shots of the coastline.































We then headed into the woods for a long hike up some very scenic but challenging terrain. Unfortunately the fog at the top kept us from seeing too much.

Leaving Boston, Heading to Maine

Today we left Boston and drove up the coast to Maine. Our first stop was Salem, Massachusetts where we went to the Salem Witch Museum and saw re-enactments of the Salem witch arrests and trials.
















After we left Salem we headed into Maine and were able to see great views of the coast including some very picturesque lighthouses.

Day Three in Boston

On our third day in Boston we had the opportunity to tour Fenway Park. We had a great guide who provided us with some very interesting history about the park, the Boston Red Sox, and the rivalry between New York and Boston.































After our tour of Fenway Park we went to the Boston Museum of Science where their guides rode around on Segways to help museum patrons. We saw some very interesting exhibits including a great electricity show!

Day Two in Boston

Today we started our second day in Boston by touring the John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum. It was very well done and very interesting.































After our JFK Museum tour we then headed downtown to take the city tour on the Boston Ducks. The ducks are just like the ones used in Wisconsin Dells but are in much better condition. The drivers are also very funny and ours even let Matthew drive while we were in the Charles River!
















After the Ducks we headed down to the wharf for some seafood and then took in the sites as the sun set. Tomorrow we are going to tour Fenway Park and see some more Boston sites.

First Day in Boston!

We arrived safe and sound in Boston this morning. The 6am flight out of Milwaukee came a bit early but it allowed us to spend a VERY full day in Boston.

















Our first stop was the freedom trail where an authentic guide took us along and provided us with a lot of great information. We not only saw the gravesites of people like Sam Adams, John Hancock, and Paul Revere, but we also saw the old statehouse where the declaration of independence was first read, Paul Revere's House, and the Old North Church.
